In February  we had a book signing 
Bookshelf at the Boatworks Mall in Tahoe City 
hosted a signing with Jennifer Woodlief
author of
Wall of White
a gripping account of the deadliest
ski area avalanche in North American history
at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort.

 

On October 17, Ken Kolsbun, author of the National Geographhic book 
Peace: the Biography of a Symbol
 visited Bookshelf at Hooligan Rocks to celebrate 
the 50th anniversary of the Peace sign and discuss his work.

Shaun Griffin joined us at the Bookshelf at Hooligan Rocks to read from his 
new book of poetry Woodsmoke, Wind, and the Peregrine 

In September, Steven Nightingale signed and read from  his new book of poetry Cinnamon Theologies at the Truckee store.

In May the Bookshelf, the Friends of the Truckee Library, and
Sierra College's Institute for Sustainability hosted a community reads discussion of Malcolm Gladwell's book The Tipping Point
with a panel of local agents of change. 

In celebration of National Poetry Month,  
artist and poet Ellen Gust 
joined us in April for a discussion of her unique new book
Life Below the Clouds: Poetry and Painting
